AF Education Foundation

afeenjinfo@gmail.com Dedicated to funding grants that enrich the Pre-K through 8th-grade educational experiences at Hillside and Brookside schools.  AFEE’s Board of Trustees is comprised of volunteers from the Allendale community. It includes parents, teachers, and District administrators, including the superintendent, principals, and supervisor.

Allendale African American Cultural Center

(803) 584-4618. A museum containing a considerable collection of books, photographs, videotapes, posters, artifacts, paintings, and many other items recalling many of the aspects of the African American experiences.

Allendale Correctional Worship Center

(803) 584-3549. Provides support to men released from the Allendale Correctional Institute through worship, counseling, and peer-to-peer relationships.

Allendale/Barnwell Disabilities and Special Needs Board

803-259-7472. Provides developmental skill improvement which enables people with mental retardation and related disabilities to live and work in the community.

Alston Wilkes Society

803-799-2490.  Provides support, life skills instruction, employment, housing assistance, and counseling for offenders, ex-offenders, homeless veterans, and other homeless individuals, emotionally and behaviorally disturbed youth and the family members of these individuals.

Ashleigh Place

803-284-4433.  High management organization that serves females, ages 10-21, who are placed in this structured environment to receive high-level mental and physical stability.

Axis I

803-541-1245.  Provides a wide array of services to prevent or reduce the negative consequences of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs and addictions, thus fostering a healthier community.

Barnwell County Ministerial Association

803-259-1128.  Provides utility and housing rent assistance, as well as helping meet emergency needs for Barnwell County citizens.

Barnwell Recreation

803-259-3317.  Coordinates youth and adult sports for the community of Barnwell.  Scholarships offered.

Blackville Recreation

803-284-2444.  Coordinates youth and adult sports for the community of Blackville.  Scholarships offered.

Boys & Girls Club of Southern Carolina

803-541-7201.  Provides summer enrichment programs and after-school care, which includes homework help.

Boy Scouts of America

706-733-5277.  Provides comprehensive youth development for boys grades 1-12.  Prepares participants to make ethical choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Cumbee Center for Abused Persons

803-259-4451.  Provides shelter/non-shelter counsel and legal advocacy for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault; Rape Crisis Center targeted adult (over 16) victims of sexual assault and child victims of non-familial sexual assault.

First Steps

803-284-3160.  Aims to ensure that families of children 0-5 have every opportunity necessary to aid them in preparing their children for school.

Generations Unlimited

803-541-1249.  Provides home-delivered meals, congregate meals, activities for seniors, case management, respite services for caregivers, caregiver support group services, health and wellness programs, and transportation services.

Girl Scouts of America

843-552-9910.  Inspires girls, ages 5-18, with the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism, and service so they may become happy and resourceful citizens.

Hilda Athletic Club

803-793-4665.  Promotes and coordinates recreational boxing opportunities.  Scholarships offered.

Hitchcock Rehabilitation Center

803-259-5838. Provides outpatient rehabilitation services, home health, hospice, pediatric services, and child development (ages 3-5).

Legion Ministry Center

803-259-3883.  Provides lunch meals every weekday for citizens facing food instability.

Local Motion

803-541-1249.  Transportation services for Barnwell County citizens are provided by Generations Unlimited.

Vietnam Veterans, Chapter #828

803-259-2224.  Provides assistance to all veterans of all ages concerning health or any needs that veterans might have.
